In this video, I took two rescue puppies on a river camping and fishing adventure with my hot tent and inflatable boat.
Both puppies are currently in my temporary care through my mother's non-profit organization, which focuses on animal rescue and helping people in need. I often take some of the rescued dogs into foster care so they don't have to spend all their time alone in kennels while waiting for a loving forever home.
We packed our gear, loaded the boat, and headed to a beautiful river for a relaxing camping trip and some fishing. Everything was going perfectly until something unexpected happened.
One of the puppies, Willy, was suddenly bitten or stung by something. It may have been a snake or possibly a large red ant. His face began reacting quickly, and I immediately ended the camping trip and rushed him to the veterinarian.
Thankfully, Willy received an injection to stop the allergic reaction, and within about 10 minutes he was acting like nothing had happened. I still can't believe how tough and brave this little puppy is.
Since all of our camping equipment was still left by the river, I planned to return later to collect everything. However, my daughter convinced me to go back and continue the adventure.
The reason was special. The second puppy was scheduled to leave for its new forever home the very next day. My daughter had become very attached to him and wanted to spend his final hours with us before he started his new life with his new family.
