Iran war: Trump confirms secret military mission in Strait of Hormuz | FOX 10 Phoenix

The United States military has launched a second consecutive day of retaliatory strikes against Iran following the shoot-down of an American Apache helicopter. President Trump confirmed the escalation, stating, "We hit them hard yesterday and we're gonna hit them again hard today." 

The military response follows an incident earlier this week involving two U.S. crew members who survived after an Iranian drone became lodged inside their aircraft.

Amid the ongoing military engagement, President Trump expressed growing frustration that Iran has not yet capitulated, though he insisted the regime has "fully negotiated" a deal. The administration is managing domestic intelligence leadership as Trump interviews five individuals to permanently fill the Director of National Intelligence role. 

Additional operational details emerged via Truth Social, where Trump revealed a previously undisclosed military operation in the region. The U.S. military participated in a secret mission to assist commercial ships and oil tankers in moving more than 100 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump emphasized the strategic presence of American forces in the shipping lane, writing that the U.S. is controlling the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran.
