We Finally Tried Italian American Spaghetti & Meatballs [It Shocked Us]

We finally tried making Italian-American Spaghetti & Meatballs completely from scratch... and now we understand why this comforting family meal has become an American classic!

Before filming this video, we had no idea that spaghetti and meatballs weren't actually a traditional Italian dish. While its roots come from Italian immigrants, the version most Americans know and love today was shaped right here in the United States.

From homemade pork and beef meatballs to a rich marinara sauce and a mountain of spaghetti, this turned out to be one of the most comforting family meals we've made so far. It's easy to see why generations of American families have gathered around the table to enjoy this dish together.

As Brits, we've always bought meatballs ready-made from the supermarket, so making everything from scratch was a completely different experience. The result? Bigger flavours, lighter meatballs, and a meal that genuinely surprised us.
