Now is a great time to add perennials to your garden and if you follow my step by step guide you can create your own stunning garden bed using a combination of perennials and shrubs.
In this video I show you how to choose the right perennials for your garden depending on whether your bed is in sun or shade. Using my design for a beautiful cottage garden bed I then show you how to place them correctly in the bed with tall perennials in the middle, mid-sized plants lower down and low growing plants nearer to the front. Once everything is planted I then add blood, fish and bone fertilizer to help the new plants along before watering well. The final touch is to top dress the border with bark mulch to seal the moisture in.
