Kuwait’s air defence systems reportedly intercepted hostile missiles and drones overnight, triggering explosions, sirens and emergency alerts across the country during Eid celebrations. The Kuwaiti military confirmed active interception operations and urged citizens to follow official safety instructions as tensions surged across the Gulf. The developments come amid escalating confrontation between the United States and Iran following fresh US strikes on Iranian military targets near the Strait of Hormuz. Washington described the attacks as “self-defence” operations after alleged Iranian drone threats to naval assets, while Tehran accused the US of violating the ceasefire and warned of retaliation. Fears are now growing of a wider regional conflict.
