Making Wootz steel from construction knives . Making a Japanese tanto for $2000
Forged from ordinary construction knives into legendary Wootz steel — this project turns scrap metal into a $2000 Japanese Tanto masterpiece. In this video, I melt and forge high-carbon steel, create authentic crucible Wootz patterns, heat treat the blade, and craft a razor-sharp Japanese Tanto inspired by traditional samurai craftsmanship.
Watch the full process of blacksmithing, Damascus pattern development, grinding, polishing, quenching, and final assembly. The result is a handmade custom knife with incredible sharpness, unique patterns, and a brutal aesthetic.
If you love bladesmithing, forging, Japanese knives, Damascus steel, Wootz steel, and custom handmade weapons, this build is for you.
