How Did I Go This Long Without Playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild?

It’s finally happening… in 2026 I’m playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the FIRST time ever.

Believe it or not, the only Zelda game I’ve ever played was the old-school Super Nintendo version years ago, so this is basically my first real experience diving into one of the most legendary games ever made. With the brand new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition finally here, it felt like the perfect time to see what all the hype has been about.

Is Breath of the Wild actually one of the greatest games ever made… or did I completely miss the boat? Today we find out.
