This week on the homestead, I’m cooking simple meals from what we’re harvesting from the garden right now: kale, spinach, collard greens, radishes, fresh herbs, and plenty of eggs from the chickens. I also ferment a small batch of radishes for the pantry.
Then we shift outdoors for a busy stretch of spring homestead work: planting flowers in the raised beds by the house, mulching the orchard with spent hay, planting potatoes in buckets, and splitting wood for the seasons ahead.
These ordinary days of cooking, growing, preserving, and preparing may not look exciting from the outside, but they are the small daily investments that slowly build a home, a pantry, and a life.
Thanks for watching 😊
