Is PST Password Recovery Free a Reliable Option?

I’m looking for a simple way to recover access to a password-protected PST file. I found several options for PST password recovery free, but I’m not sure how reliable they are. Can a free solution recover the password without affecting the emails or other data stored in the PST file? I’d also like to know whether a dedicated PST password recovery tool is safer when the PST contains important Outlook emails. Any suggestions or user experiences would be helpful.
