Kelly Clarkson Fans Will Be Stunned to Learn Her Show Is Ending Way Sooner Than Expected

When The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019, fans were unsure what to expect.

With Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson headlining her own daytime talk show, folks were shocked by how much they enjoyed seeing her in this element. Between her performing “Kellyoke” covers every day and conversing with some of the day’s biggest celebrities, it felt like you were watching your best friend when tuning in every weekday on NBC.

So, imagine fans’ reaction when Kelly announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show was ending after seven seasons. They were understandably devastated by the prospect of not seeing the singer back on their TVs every afternoon. What’s more, the final episode is premiering on NBC on Monday, August 31, 2026—way sooner than we thought.

Given that the series has been on the air for the better part of a decade, we need to discuss all the details ahead of The Kelly Clarkson Show’s series finale.

Much to the disappointment of Kelly’s fans, on February 2, she shared the news on Instagram that her final show was coming.

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she wrote at the time. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons … because of all of that, this was not an easy decision—but this season will be my last hosting TKCS.”

When Kelly appeared on Today shortly after her big announcement, she got in-depth about the reason for ending The Kelly Clarkson Show. As she revealed at the time, she needed to support her two kids (daughter River Rose and son Remington “Remy” Alexander) after their dad, Brandon Blackstock, died from cancer in August 2025.

“Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now,” she said as shown in a clip posted on Instagram in February 2026. “It’s one of those things when you kind of start seeing life as how precious it is, too. It was like, you know what? I’m really busy … I know everybody thinks, ‘Oh, she quit.’ I’m like, ‘I still have other jobs!’ So, I’m still doing stuff. There’s just too much on my plate. So I was like, you know what? It’s time to kind of pull back.”

“The crew’s been incredible,” she added. “That’s what kind of sucked. It was like everything was going well. That’s what was really hard. And it’s like, people’s jobs … you know, we’re a family there as well. So, that was a really hard thing for me, but an easy decision as a mama.”

According to the series’s digital director, Andrew Shaw, fans can expect the final episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show to premiere on Monday, August 31, 2026, on NBC. What’s more, he marked the show’s end with an emotional post on Instagram.

“End of the most incredible era,” he wrote on June 26. “After 7 seasons I can’t believe we’ve filmed the final episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, ever. This show, this woman, this team… have changed the trajectory of my life and I’m so grateful. Our last episode airs August 31, and I’ll share more then, but for now… 🫶🏼.”

Luckily, this won’t be the last time fans will see Kelly on the TV screen. She’s set to return as a coach on The Voice season 30, which will air new episodes beginning on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
