A funeral service was held by her close relatives. The editorial department of Monthly Shounen Gangan announced the news on Wednesday, stating that this sudden farewell must have been unexpected for the artist herself, making it a truly heartbreaking event for her family, the editorial staff, and everyone involved.
"We would like to respectfully inform our readers, who have supported her work during her lifetime. All members of the editorial department express our deepest respect and gratitude for her artistic work and offer our heartfelt condolences," the editorial team added.
Kinsou no Vermeil ended with its 41st chapter that was serialized in the July issue on June 12. The editors added that the details for future volume releases will be announced at a later date.
Amana and Umezu began the school fantasy manga in Monthly Shounen Gangan in August 2018. Square Enix released the 11th volume on June 11.
Staple Entertainment adapted the manga into a 12-episode anime series in Summer 2022. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime and streamed it on HIDIVE with subtitles and an English dub.
