MG Community Banks Launch Travel Card With Overseas, Lifestyle Perks
MG Community Banks has launched the "MG+ Travel-log Hana Card," a credit card that combines overseas travel features with everyday domestic benefits, the lender said on the 10th.Cardholders can pay at overseas merchants using foreign-currency Hana Money and are exempt from overseas service fees and international brand fees when withdrawing cash from overseas ATMs.Within South Korea, the card offers a 10% billing discount across seven categories tied to daily life: utility bills, video streaming, digital memberships, music, webtoons and books, rentals, and home care.Utility bills cover apartment maintenance fees and electricity and gas charges. Eligible streaming services include Netflix, Disney+, Wavve, Tving and YouTube Premium. Digital memberships include discounts on Coupang Wow, Naver Plus, Baemin Club and Yogi Pass. Discounts are also available through various partner companies for music, webtoons and books, rentals and home care.Discount limits vary by the previous month's spending. Cardholders who spend at least 500,000 won ($360) receive up to 20,000 won in combined monthly discounts, while those who spend at least 1 million won ($720) receive up to 40,000 won per month. Applications can be made at MG community bank branches nationwide, as well as through MG The Banking and the MG Card website. The annual fee is 20,000 won for the domestic-and-overseas version (Mastercard).An official at the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives said the bank plans to "expand contact with younger customers through the launch of overseas-focused products and improve customer convenience based on lifestyle-oriented benefits."
