Study ranks Brazil as top destination for thrill-seekers in 2026
Brazil ranks as the top adventure destination for thrill-seekers in 2026, according to a study conducted by Casino Days.
The country ranked highest on the top 10 list with a final adrenaline score of 9.30 out of 10 followed by neighbor Argentina with a score of 8.90.
The study comes amid the ongoing travel trend wherein Gen Z and Millennials are seeking “dare-cations”, adventurous, and adrenaline-filled destinations.
Casino Days ranked the world’s best adventure destinations by analysing 16 adrenaline-inducing activities across four categories: urban, outdoor, water and snow adventures. Casino Days also factored in affordability.
Brazil stands out for its variety of outdoor adventures, scoring 9.80 in the category thanks to its 2,940 rock climbing trails and over 3 million online mentions of hiking and mountain biking trails on Wikiloc, highlighting the destination’s popularity for outdoor activities. The South American country also achieves the second highest water thrill score among the top ten, with 449 surf spots and a spectacular 7,400-kilometre coastline. Brazil is also home to 105 roller coasters, including the iconic wooden Montezum and also ‘Surreal’ at Beach Park in Aquiraz, Ceará – the world’s tallest water roller coaster.
The country is especially appealing because of its relatively low monthly cost of living for a single person at $791.
Argentina scored a high 9.40 for outdoor thrills with more than 700,000 online trail mentions across rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. Argentina beat Brazil when it comes to snow adventures with a score of 8.75 with around 6,300 alpine climbing trail mentions.
Spain ranked third with a final adrenaline score of 8.79, followed by France and Mexico with 8.73 and 8.59, respectively.
The urban category factored in casinos, roller coasters, skydiving spots and skateparks. The outdoor category included rock climbing, mountain bike, hiking and off-road trails. Casino Days looked at surf locations, rowing, kayak, swimming trails for the water category and alpine climbing, cross country ski, ice climbing trails and ski resorts for the snow category.
