We’re all aware of the power of manifestation but Tom Holland took his manifesting skills to a whole new level when turning his first childhood crush into his wife.
Holland, known for his roles in Uncharted and the Spiderman franchise, and Zendaya, star of Euphoria and Dune, have been openly together since the summer of 2021.
Since this year there’s been pretty damning evidence that the pair married in secret, with the ceremony finally being confirmed in recent weeks.
With this exciting news, let’s take a look back on their love story.
2016-2020
Zendaya and Holland have been working together since their first movie together, Spiderman Homecoming in 2016. Speculation began throughout the media that the pair might me more than co-stars when they saw how comfortable they were with each other outside filming.
During the Spiderman Homecoming premiere, Holland made it clear in an interview that he and Zendaya were just friends, but that they very close and supportive of each other. The pair continued to deny their relationship was anything more than a friendship and would joke about the dating rumours on their socials.
July 2021
Fast forward to July of 2021, Holland and Zendaya are spotted in a stopped car in LA sharing a kiss. This is the first sign of the pair’s relationship flourishing from friendship to romance.
That same day the two were caught by paparazzi outside Zendaya’s mother’s house carrying boxes to the car. During that same month the couple also attended a mutual friend’s wedding together.
September 2021
On the first of September 2021 Holland posted a picture to his Instagram page for Zendaya’s birthday which left the public ecstatic. The picture contained the couple looking cosy in the mirror of a dressing room on the set of Spiderman.
The caption read, “My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your up xxx”
November 2021
In November 2021 Holland expressed in an interview with G2 that he wants his relationship with Zendaya to remain private, especially after the car photo as it was such an intimate moment that was published to the world without either of their consent.
June 2022
Due to the couple’s private lifestyle fans began to wonder if they were still involved. On the first of June 2022 we saw Zendaya confirm that the pair were still together when she posted to her Instagram for Holland’s birthday.
The post was a close up, black and white shot of the two smiling with their arms wrapped around each other. Zendaya wrote, “Happiest of birthdays to the one who makes me the happiest <3”.
Three months later Zendaya mentioned her “boyfriend” when asked who was the first person she texted after receiving her Emmy award for her role in Euphoria.
March 2023
The couple are all about small details to show off that they’re in love. On Zendaya’s nail technician’s Instagram story, fans spotted that Zendaya was wearing an engraved gold signet ring with the letters ‘TH’ on the front. Soon after Holland was seen with tiny a ‘Z’ embroidered onto his trousers.
December 2024 – January 2025
Last Christmas Holland gave Zendaya his heart! The two spent the holidays with Zendaya’s family in America. During the period between Christmas and New year’s Holland allegedly popped the question and as we can see from her appearance at this year’s Golden Globes, she said yes!
Fans also noticed a small detail in Zendaya’s red carpet photos. As the star’s dress moved slightly during different poses a tiny ‘t’ tattoo on her ribcage became visible. According to TMZ the pair got matching tattoos after their engagement.
March 2026
It seems the couple didn’t wait all that long to tie the knot, as Zendaya’s longtime stylist and collaborator Law Roach revealed they married in secret.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Roach was asked whether Zendaya and Tom were any further with their wedding planning when he said: “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”
When asked whether he was being serious, Law said: “It’s very true.”
July 2026
After months of speculation, Zendaya finally confirmed her marriage to Tom when she wore her wedding band during the press tours for The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
According to reports, the couple held a larger wedding in the UK last week – which was attended by their extended friends and family, but still remained largely lowkey.
The ceremony was apparently held on August 4 at Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey, not a million miles away from Holland’s hometown.
