BYD France Becomes Team Vitality’s Official Vehicle Supplier

BYD France has become Team Vitality’s official vehicle supplier, adding the French esports organization to the Chinese automaker’s expanding sports and gaming sponsorship portfolio.

Under the agreement, the BYD DOLPHIN G DM-i plug-in hybrid will serve as Team Vitality’s official vehicle and support transportation for its players and teams. Team Vitality and BYD France announced the partnership through their official social media channels on July 20.

The companies described the arrangement as covering the summer but did not disclose its financial terms, the number of vehicles being provided or whether the agreement includes a cash sponsorship component. No wider activation program, jersey placement or longer-term contract was announced.

The supplier designation makes the disclosed agreement narrower than a typical major team sponsorship, but it gives BYD a presence around one of France’s most prominent esports brands while providing Vitality with an operational mobility partner.

The announcement also extends an esports strategy BYD has already established in China. In June, BYD Ocean became the first Chinese automotive brand to sponsor the League of Legends Pro League for the 2026 season, taking over a high-profile category left vacant after Mercedes-Benz ended its long-running partnership with the competition, as previously reported by The Esports Advocate.

BYD previously signed a global strategic partnership with NIP Group in 2024, focused primarily on the company’s Chinese League of Legends operation. The automaker had already sponsored NIP Group’s Honor of Kings team, Wuhan eStarPro, since 2021.

The Vitality agreement brings that esports sponsorship activity to a prominent European organization. It also follows BYD’s broader push into French sports marketing. Four days before the Vitality announcement, the automaker signed a three-year global automotive partnership with Paris Saint-Germain that includes vehicle supply, content, events and fan activations.
