Since it burst onto the scene way back in 1987, the Final Fantasy franchise by Square Enix has become one of the most successful sagas of all time. Now consisting of 16 mainline entries, as well as multiple spin-offs, remakes, mobile games, and more, the RPG series is more popular than ever.
However, as well as official entries coming out of our ears, there are also fan-made projects to sink our teeth into, and Final Fantasy: Blackmoon Prophecy is the perfect example. Created by user uprc, this fan-made game acts as a full remake of an earlier iteration of it which was first released back in 2011.
Now bigger and better than ever, fans can expect a true Final Fantasy experience with the fan-made project featuring everything and more that you could expect from an official entry.
"In Blackmoon Prophecy Remake, take on the role of Vahn Vainstrong as you set out to safeguard Gaia's Crystals of the Element from a malevolent entity who seeks to exploit the Crystals for their own gain," the official synopsis reads. "Travel across multiple world maps that will see Vahn journey across the four kingdoms of Gaia, the depths of the Underworld below, and beyond."
In Final Fantasy: Blackmoon Prophecy Remake, players can choose between 22 playable characters, as well as six guest characters to get to know, with each having their own unique classes and jobs. This includes jobs such as Black Mage, Chemist, Dark Knight, Dragoon, Mechanist, Oracle, Summoner, Thief, White Mage, and many more.
"Want a break from saving the world? Journey to the Gygas Arena to partake in a 100 battle ladder which offers powerful rewards along the way. If you don't want to fight, you may also partake in Hide & Kupo Seek, a tense and fast-paced hide and seek game featuring moogles. For those who favour chance, there is the House of Revelry in Lindblum where you can gamble away your hard-earned gil in several games of chance/luck!"
As you can see, as well as a main questline, there are plenty of side activities to get stuck into in Final Fantasy: Blackmoon Prophecy Remake, but that is not all. This brand-new remake also includes 99 skins to choose from, allowing you to customize to your heart's content.
