Sam Lloyd, who potted plants with the Duchess, said: ‘Her Royal Highness was incredibly engaged and enthusiastic. Everyone she met was as equally excited to speak with her as I was and it was a truly memorable experience for everybody.’

But that was not the only engagement for the Duchess of Gloucester on 13 July. Birgitte also stopped by the Little Princess Trust, a charity that helps provide wigs for children with cancer. The royal tried her hand at wig-knotting, learning how the process can take up to 60 hours.
‘We were delighted to welcome The Duchess of Gloucester and to show Her Royal Highness how the selfless acts from so many supporters and volunteers ensure we can help thousands of children and young people.’ said charity founder Wendy Tarplee-Morris.
‘Our free wig service and our funding of childhood cancer research can only happen thanks to the efforts from so many people, and it is wonderful to see this recognised and appreciated by Her Royal Highness.’
