Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final against Spain at the New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
In the third minute of injury time in the second half, the Chelsea midfielder committed a foul on Pau Cubarsi that sent the Spanish defender flying into the air. This got him his second yellow card.
His first yellow had come just 11 minutes earlier for dissent.
Enzo, who had won the Best Young Player Award at the World Cup four years back, becomes the sixth player to be sent off in the title clash, and the third Argentina player.
The sending off put Argentina in a precarious position, which was trying to keep a 0-0 score against wave after wave of Spanish attack.
