Prepare to say goodbye to Colin from Accounts.
While network TV's 2025-2026 cycle has been finished for a few weeks now, it doesn't mean that CBS doesn't have any other projects that end up in other avenues. As an example, the NCIS franchise mainly lives on traditional broadcast, but Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo's NCIS: Tony & Ziva was primarily aired on Paramount+. While this might be the most prominent instance, it doesn't mean that it isn't the only show that has this set-up.
Australian romantic comedy, Colin from Accounts, have the same arrangement with CBS. The show was created for Foxtel and is currently streaming on Binge. It became available to stream internationally on Paramount+ in 2023. The show is produced by two production companies, however, Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios, which is the same entity behind popular ongoing projects such as CIA, Boston Blue, and even the Reacher spinoff, Neagley, among others.
As announced by the lead stars, Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer, themselves (via @cbstvstudios/Instagram), Colin from Accounts is returning for seaosn 3, but it will also be the final installment of the beloved series. No clear reasoning has been given about the cancellation, sadly. In any case, the fact that they are given the time and opportunity to wrap up such a beloved show is better than the series being pulled out of the air with lingering plot lines. Check out the announcement below:
For context, Colin from Accounts debuted in 2022 and follows Ashley and Gordon — two singles living in Sydney, Australia who have a fated meeting. They are brought together by a car accident that has kept them connected, as well as an injured dog, whom they named Colin from Accounts. It's a rather genius way of titling the series, as the branding makes it difficult to decipher what the project is truly all about just based on its name.
In any case, Colin from Accounts became a critical and commercial hit. The series still has a pristine 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is impressive, considering that it has been on the air for two seasons now. The audience score is also great at 87%. It is able to blend humor with heartwarming moments, which seems like a fairly simple mix but is actually tricky to execute. For romantic comedy fans who are looking for underrated gems, Colin from Accounts seems to be the perfect binge with only 16 episodes.
For now, Colin from Accounts season 3 has no exact premiere date yet. Based on roll out pattern for the series, however, it's safe to assume that it will be premiering sometime this year and will likely also be a one-time drop on all the platforms that it's available on. Based on Brammall and Dyer's statement, it does seem like the decision to wrap it up came from them, as they explained that they felt like it's the organic end of the story. But at the very least, they have a chance to properly say goodbye to Ash and Gordon.
