Harry, who was all smiles on the visit, thanked the nurses for all they do, especially when resources can be scarce. He also spent time taking photographs with hospital staff, which were later posted online. However, after posting some of these photographs on X, Birmingham Children’s Hospital had to take action and ban some comments after the Duke started getting trolled.
Their post read: “It was a pleasure to welcome WellChild Patron, Prince Harry, to our Children's Hospital today as he met families, WellChild Nurses and staff who are transforming care for children with complex medical needs.”
While some comments were positive, others were not so nice, with many criticising the hospital for allowing The Duke of Sussex to visit, especially after the Daily Mail’s Charlotte Griffiths wrote an article about her experiences with Harry, even going as far as to say that he once put a white pill in her mouth, which she thinks was paracetamol but cannot be sure.
The hospital has banned some comments, but critical responses can still be seen.
One person wrote: “I think we can all agree that hosting him at a Children’s Hospital is shocking! You saved my life when I was 7 years old, for which I shall be eternally grateful, but I am so disappointed that you didn’t cancel the visit after recent revelations.”
Another said: “Have you not read the headlines!”
Someone else commented: “Wow, with what has come to light recently, this is very disheartening.”
Another person said: “You need to rethink having him as your patron.”
