Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's ex-wife called Epstein "The Great One" in emails sent shortly after he pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution in 2009, according to reports. New exchanges published by the Daily Mail suggest Sarah met the convicted paedophile for "a quick cup of tea" while he was on work-release from jail in Palm Beach.
Just weeks after the meeting, the former Duchess of York appeared to be planning a return trip. She wrote: "I am coming into Palm Beach to see you on Wednesday. I land at 9:30am. Can your brilliant (driver) pick me up, bring me to you, The Great One!! And then take me to Miami!??? Please with roses on top!"
Sarah's representatives have insisted she was "taken in by" Epstein's lies and has long regretted her association with him.
But other emails released by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) as part of the so-called Epstein files show the duchess thanking the paedophile for "being the brother I have always wished for" months after his conviction.
She also called Epstein "my dear spectacular and special friend" and a "legend", adding that she is "so proud" of him, and appeared to organise a lunch for the two of them with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The Epstein files also heightened scrutiny on Andrew's relationship with the financier, with the pair appearing to exchange emails about a "beautiful" Russian woman.
The former Duke of York was stripped of his titles by King Charles last year after the posthumous publication of a book by Virginia Giuffre.
Ms Giuffre alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 17.
She lodged a civil sexual assault claim against Andrew, which he settled for millions of pounds in 2022, despite claiming to have never met her.
Andrew was also arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his connections to Epstein.
The former prince has strongly denied any wrongdoing.
