Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has unveiled the next phase of the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP), outlining an ambitious long-term vision that will transform Sentosa and the neighbouring 120-hectare Brani into an expanded island destination over the next two decades. The plans were revealed at the launch of the Your Island. Reimagined. exhibition at VivoCity, giving Singaporeans a first look at the future of one of the country’s most iconic leisure destinations while inviting the public to share their ideas and aspirations.

Guided by the vision of Sentosa as Singapore’s “Island Playground and Sanctuary in a Global City”, the master plan aims to create new attractions, lifestyle spaces and nature experiences while preserving the island’s natural environment and heritage. Once completed, Greater Sentosa is expected to welcome twice as many visitors as it does today, with new opportunities for hotels, attractions and recreational experiences across Sentosa and Brani.

The transformation will be carried out progressively, with developments expected to begin coming on stream from the early 2030s. This phased approach allows SDC to continue evolving the island to meet changing leisure, tourism and lifestyle needs while introducing new experiences over time.

One of the key areas identified for future development is Brani West, which is expected to become one of the largest attraction sites under the master plan. SDC has already begun engaging potential partners as it explores new concepts that will strengthen Greater Sentosa’s appeal for both local residents and international visitors.

Among the headline concepts are several new landmark attractions. At Mount Imbiah, the proposed Imbiah Canopy will serve as a new destination featuring attractions, food and beverage outlets, retail offerings and sheltered event spaces. A treetop skywalk will connect visitors to new nature experiences and trails while providing a scenic route towards Siloso Beach.

The planned Imbiah Lookout Walk will further enhance connectivity by linking Sensoryscape with Imbiah Lookout through an elevated sheltered forest canopy walkway. Additional nature-based attractions and expanded heritage trails are also planned, eventually connecting to the Southern Ridges on the mainland. Future plans will also link the forests across Brani, Serapong and Imbiah into a continuous green network that strengthens ecological connectivity while offering visitors more opportunities to immerse themselves in nature.
Along the beachfront, SDC has proposed the Sensorium, a new lifestyle destination that will house indoor attractions, event spaces and festival venues within a sustainable environment designed with integrated green spaces to improve thermal comfort and enhance the visitor experience.
Visitors can also look forward to upcoming developments at Resorts World Sentosa, including the Waterfront Lifestyle Development, scheduled for completion in 2030, as well as the highly anticipated SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Singapore.

Sentosa’s three main beaches, Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong, will also undergo rejuvenation alongside new coastal protection measures. The plans envision expanded lifestyle offerings, multi-use public spaces and enhanced beachfront experiences that support recreation, relaxation and community activities throughout the day and evening.
Future concepts under study include beach clubs positioned around sunrise and sunset views, treetop dining experiences, coastal activities and a floating boardwalk linking nearby islets. Visitors may eventually be able to enjoy an islet hopping experience across Sentosa’s three-kilometre coastline, allowing them to explore the island’s surrounding waters and natural landscapes in new ways.

Connectivity across Greater Sentosa is also set for a major upgrade. A proposed Island Heart Transport Hub will become the main gateway linking Sentosa and Brani while providing seamless connections throughout the destination. Plans also include a new People Mover System to replace the existing Sentosa Express, offering greater capacity and smoother travel between the mainland and key attractions. Additional transport options under study include expanded waterfront links, water taxis and improved integration with the Singapore Cable Car.
Sustainability remains a central pillar of the master plan. Future developments will build upon initiatives such as Cooling Sentosa by incorporating climate resilience, ecological connectivity, greenery and thermal comfort into every stage of planning. The recently completed Sensoryscape demonstrates this approach by combining lush landscaping, universal design, shaded walkways, digital experiences and biodiversity enhancements into a 350-metre green corridor connecting Resorts World Sentosa with the island’s beaches.
Environmental studies and ongoing engagement with nature groups will continue to shape future projects, ensuring that new attractions are carefully integrated with Sentosa’s ridgelines, forests, coastlines and heritage. Planned coastal protection measures will also help address erosion and rising sea levels while creating new waterfront recreational opportunities.
To engage the public, SDC has launched the Your Island. Reimagined. exhibition, which features seven immersive zones exploring Sentosa’s heritage, present attractions and future possibilities. Through interactive installations, quizzes and AI powered experiences, visitors can create their own vision of Greater Sentosa by exploring ideas for future beaches, waterfronts, ridgelines and attractions.
Following its debut at VivoCity from 3 to 5 July, the free exhibition will travel to Our Tampines Hub from 22 to 27 July, Jurong Point from 19 to 23 August, Waterway Point from 23 to 27 September, before returning to Sentosa in October. Visitors will also be able to enjoy exclusive promotions for selected Sentosa attractions and dining experiences during the exhibition run.
