I've hunted down every confirmed GTA 6 gun in its trailers and screenshots so far

You won't get far in Vice City without weapons, and lots of 'em. Jason and Lucia are on a bit of a crime spree, you see. Just like we've done for the cars, map locations, and characters, I've trawled through everything Rockstar has released about GTA 6 so far to pick out what's available and how it might have changed from its predecessor.

I've picked out 19 guns across both trailers and all the screenshots released so far. It's not clear how customisable some of these guns are, and whether similar-looking guns are actually two different ones. Likewise, I've not included melee weapons, since it's hard to judge which ones you'll be able to pick up. I'm sure there will be your usual knives, bats, and whatnot though.

One thing I've noticed is that there seem to be more named weapons. In GTA 5, most guns were just named after their generic class, such as 'pistol' and 'heavy pistol', or 'bullpup rifle' and 'carbine rifle'. A lot of the GTA 6 guns I've spotted have specific names, which I'd assume will also be used in-game. It's a nice touch that makes it easier to tell weapons apart.

GTA 6 weapons: Lucia and Jason's custom Morgan revolvers on a table, next to ammo, a knife, and a stack of cash.

Morgan revolver

The Morgan is a revolver based on a Smith & Wesson 629, and it's sure to pack a punch. There are two modified versions for Jason and Lucia in the Ultimate Edition. The unique serial numbers engraved on them are actually references to the release dates of GTA Vice City and Vice City Stories.

GTA 6 weapons: A close-up of Lucia's K17 on a table.

Klose K17

The K17 is Lucia's pistol of choice, though I'd be surprised if you can't use it as Jason, too. It looks to be based on the real G17, and I'm curious whether it can be upgraded to be automatic. The Ultimate Edition includes a personalised paint job for Lucia's favourite firearm.

GTA 6 weapons: A close-up of Jason's custom Girardi ES9 on a table.

Girardi ES9

This is Jason's preferred pistol, modelled on the Beretta 92FS, and we've seen him carrying it multiple times in the trailers and screenshots so far. As with Lucia's pistol, you can get a custom paint job for it in the Ultimate Edition.

GTA 6 weapons: A character with their arm around a biker, holding a Mustang .357 revolver.

Mustang .357

The Mustang is a high-power revolver based on the Colt Python. It's unclear whether it'll be an upgrade over Lucia and Jason's custom Morgans, but you can't go wrong with a magnum, even if it's just for style points.

GTA 6 weapons: Artwork of Lucia leaning against Jason, holding a Nipper 38 pistol against his chest.

Nipper .38

We've seen this small handgun multiple times—it even features on the cover art, held by Lucia. Given how small it is (and how common it seems to be), I'm not expecting the Nipper to be top of the line.

GTA 6 weapons: Raul holding a Capo pistol discreetly by his lap while driving.

Capo pistol

The full name of this Capo pistol isn't known yet, but it turned up in the earliest GTA 6 reveals. Jason was holding it at the end of the liquor store robbery that capped off the first trailer, and Raul Bautista has one in a later screenshot. It looks a lot like a Colt M1911 to me.

GTA 6 weapons: A close-up of Jason aiming a Duke, M4-inspired carbine.

Duke carbine

We've seen two variations of an M4-inspired carbine, which are likely the same gun but with different attachments. Take a close look and you'll see the Duke Arms Company insignia. If you've played Red Dead Redemption, then you'll recognise this manufacturer, so clearly it survived the end of the wild west and has thrived in GTA's criminal underworld.

GTA 6 weapons: Lucia wearing glasses and a skull mask aiming an MP5-inspired SMG.

MP5-inspired SMG

Another weapon currently lacking an official name is an SMG very clearly modelled after the MP5, which we saw both Lucia and Jason using while robbing a bank in the second GTA 6 trailer. Jason's also had a red dot sight, which will probably be an in-game upgrade.

GTA 6 weapons: A poacher sitting down with a Duke rifle against his leg.

Duke sniper rifle

Like the Duke carbine, we can clearly see the insignia on the magwell marking this one as a Duke-manufactured rifle, but it's not got a model name yet. We see it used by a hunter, where it appears to have been modded with some rail slides. It could actually be a modified version of the carbine, though, because a lot of the base parts look the same.

GTA 6 weapons: Two hunters walking through the woods with sniper rifles.

Remington 700-inspired rifle

We can see two hunters roaming the woods in one screenshot, carrying what look like two different snipers. The clearer one looks like a Remington 700 bolt action, which should hit pretty hard to make up for the slower firing.

GTA 6 weapons: A poacher holding an M1A-inspired rifle outside a shack.

M1A-inspired rifle

The poachers continue to show off new rifles without visible names. This time it's a sniper that looks a lot like an M1A. If I had to guess, it'll feel like the marksman rifle in GTA 5, boasting a higher rate of fire but less damage than a traditional bolt-action.

GTA 6 weapons: A close-up of Jason holding a MAC-10-inspired SMG with a retro blue paint job.

MAC-10-inspired SMG

We don't know what this SMG is called in-game yet, but it's very clearly designed after the MAC-10. You can tell by its very boxy design and stubby protruding muzzle. Of course, Jason's glamoured it up with the paint job from the Vintage Vice City pre-order pack in this image.

GTA 6 weapons: An aerial shot of a hunter aiiming a double barreled shotgun at an aligator.

Double-barreled shotgun

It wouldn't be a GTA game without a classic double-barreled shotgun now, would it? We've seen a hunter aiming one at an alligator in a screenshot, where it's clearly got a full-length barrel. I'm curious whether we can trim that barrel down to make a sawed-off.

GTA 6 weapons: A gun store owner on TV picking up an M249-inspired LMG.

M249-inspired LMG

In the second trailer, we're treated to the obnoxious owner of Phil's Ammu-Nation touting his goods. In the brief clip, he picks up what looks to be a machine gun modelled after the M249 with a very large box magazine.

GTA 6 weapons: A gun store owner on TV with a rack of assault rifles on the back wall.

AK-47-inspired assault rifle

On the racks at the back of Phil's Ammu-Nation, we can see a variety of different AK-47 models, which I'd bet are an example of different attachments you can select from.

GTA 6 weapons: A gun store owner on TV with a rack of SMGs on the back wall.

Uzi-inspired SMGs

Also in the background of Phil's Ammu-Nation are a bunch of different SMGs. To my eye, it looks like various setups of an Uzi (stocks, sights, that sort of thing), and potentially an MP7, MP9, or TEC-9 up there too.

GTA 6 weapons: A gun store owner on TV with a rack of shotguns on the back wall.

Remington 870-inspired shotguns

The last weapons hidden on the racks at the gun store are a handful of shotguns. What stands out to me are a few variations of the iconic Remington 870 pump-action. GTA 5's 'pump shotgun' was in part modelled after this weapon, mixed with a bit of the Mossberg 590.

Benelli M4-inspired shotguns

You can also pretty clearly make out the Benelli M4, arguably better known as the M1014, if you've played modern Call of Duty games. It's similar to the Mossberg 590, too, so it could also be a revival of GTA 5's 'pump shotgun'.

GTA 6 weapons: Lucia blowing up police cars with a grenade launcher.

Grenade launcher

Surprise surprise, the grenade launcher returns yet again in GTA 6. It's unclear whether it'll still just be called a generic 'grenade launcher', but the model looks very similar to the one used in GTA 5. I've no doubt it'll be just as useful as ever at blowing up pursuing cars, helicopters, you name it.
