Keen Games has announced the official release date for Enshrouded’s full 1.0 release. The game is set to officially launch on October 15th, 2026. After over two and a half years in Early Access on PC, the survival action RPG is launching simultaneously on Windows PC and PlayStation 5. Xbox Series X|S players will have to wait a little longer, with that version now confirmed for spring 2027.
CEO Jan Jöckel spoke about the Xbox delay, commenting:
“Our team worked tirelessly to bring 1.0 and its exciting new content to both the PS5 and Xbox X|S editions, with the goal of launching everywhere at once. Our game pushes a lot of complex systems at once like deep terraforming and building at a scale we’re really proud of. Bringing all of that to two console platforms simultaneously proved more demanding than we anticipated. Rather than rush, we made the call to focus and get each version right. We refuse to compromise on the quality of the game, and we know Xbox players expect the best”
Jan Jöckel“.“
Keen Games laid out the full Enshrouded roadmap at the start of the year, and the 1.0 release is what they hope is the culmination of considerable work since its early access release.
The final version is expected to deliver a “significantly improved onboarding experience for new players, smoother quest progression, and performance optimisations including better stability across hardware configurations and faster shader compilation.”
1.0 will also get new areas, enemies and an improved Adventure Sharing system. The Adventure Sharing system will let players share worlds and all of the creative content they’ve been making. The advanced world sharer will be filled with traps, enemy spawners and other features, so people can make their own dungeons, worlds and whatever their mind fancies to experiment with.
Players can also expect better AI, updated combat systems and much more at launch.
The spring update that landed in April, titled Forging the Path, was the final major Early Access patch before 1.0. It introduced Adventure Sharing in its first iteration, new special abilities, melee weapons with heavy attacks, refined attack chains and a more advanced enemy awareness system.
Enshrouded is up there as one of the best survival games on the market, thanks to its voxel building system and variety of art styles. Throw in the solid exploration systems, and it’s definitely one of the better co-op PvE games out there, and I personally think it’s well worth paying attention to ahead of its October launch.
