D&D And ‘Vampire: The Masquerade’ To Crossover This July

D&D Beyond announced its 3rd party publishing calendar for the next few months, including a Vampire: the Masquerade/5.5E crossover.

D&D and Vampire: the Masquerade are together again, a reunion not seen since the days of Monte Cook’s World of Darkness, which is a game best left to the aughts. But this week, D&D Beyond released its 3rd party publishing calendar for Q3, which feels a little mean considering we’re still in the first half of the year. I know that’s not how “the fiscal year” goes, but consider what you’re doing to a person emotionally.

Anyway, the point is, over the next few months, there are some exciting titles coming to D&D Beyond, including an unexpected crossover with Vampire: the Masquerade from White Wolf and Ghostfire Gaming. Ghostfire Gaming, you might recognize from Dungeons of Drakkenheim or Grim Hollow, and White Wolf has the whole World of Darkness and then some to its name.

D&D Beyond and Vampire The Masquerade Crossing Over In July

It seems fitting to see a Vampire crossover during the “Season of Horror” anchored by Ravenloft. And in July, Vampire: the Masquerade – Bound By Blood will bring the World of Darkness to D&D 5.5E complete with a full Vampire Class with Blood Points, Discipline, and even grappling with the Beast. Alongside the new class is an adventure set during Vampire’s “Dark Ages” timeline.

As a longtime fan of both the World of Darkness and especially Dark Ages, I’m glad to see it getting some love. It makes sense that that’s how the crossover would shake out, since it’s the most D&D-like of Vampire’s various settings.

But it’s not just a Vampire crossover you can expect. There’s a host of other titles coming as well, each wih a horror theme to it. For instance, later this month,, you’ll be able to grab Steinhardt’s Guide to the Eldritch Hunt, a “player pack” from MonkeyDM that adds 7 new “gothic subclasses” and new weapons that feel very Bloodbourne-coded.

More of the amazing subclasses from Valda’s Spire of Secrets will be available in a second Player Pack coming in July from Mage Hand Press. You’ll find 7 subclasses as well as rules for your very own Pet Rock. Amaze! Amaze!

And then, well ahead of the Greyhawk book that Luke Gygax will be working on, there’s a return to Greyhawk in the form of Legends of Greyhawk: Saviors of Safeton from the West Coast Adventurer’s Guild. This ties into D&D’s newest ongoing organized play campaign, which started back in April. Legends of Greyhawk is a “global shared campaign” set in the world of Greyhawk and you can play it wherever there’s an organized play DM, especially at conventions.

You can find out more about the Legends of Greyhawk Campaign here. But in Saviors of Safeton, you’ll find a bundle of three adventures that will take you from levels 1-4. You’ll explore the Wild Coast and can even find an introductory adventure if you or your friends are new to organized play or D&D in general. Of course, you don’t have to play in the organized campaign, you can always just run these on your own.

When July ends, and the summer begins to really kick in to high gear, it’s time to travel to the Western Frontier of Eberron in Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone, a new adventure and setting sourcebook set in the lands between the ancient kingdom of Brelaand and the rising nation of Droaam.

It’s got new “monstrous” species options, like harpy, gargoyle, or even medusa. I’m excited for it. Eberron is my favorite official D&D setting, and Droaam is one of the more fascinating places in that world.

Hit Point Press is back with The Field Guide to Floral Dragons for 5.5E. It’s exactly what you think, a collection of new floral dragons that you can use in your adventures. But you’ll also find 3 subclasses and a new floral dragon themed species option, coming in August.

Then it’s back to Greyhawk with another two Legends of Greyhawk adventure bundles. First up is Dreams of the Chained God, which puts me immediately in mind of the Temple of Elemental Evil and chained Tharizdun kept deep beneath it. In this bundle you can grab three adventures for levels 5-10, all set in Flanaess. This adventure bundle is all about transitioning from the Season of Horror to the Season of Magic, which should also kick off around August into September.

And capping off the Q3 releases at the very beginning of September is one last Legends of Greyhawk Bundle. In The Tear-Stained Idol, which is another three adventures aimed at levels 5-10 (you’ll see a lot of those in organized play), you will explore the Duchy of Unrst as Greyhawk (and D&D at large) unfurls into the Season of Magic with the release of Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall on September 16th.

There’s a lot in the coming days. And of course these are just the third-party titles coming to D&D Beyond. There’s still plenty more out there in all sorts of places. But if you play on D&D Beyond, these will be coming quite soon and will be ready to play right there.

Looks like Q3 is gonna be packed – time for a summer of adventure!
