Royal Ascot is well underway as it hosts Day Three, or Ladies’ Day, today, with a number of royals expected to attend. The King and Queen will lead the royal procession today, as they have done since Tuesday, when the prestigious racing event began. Wednesday saw the triumphant return of the Princess of Wales, who attended Ascot for the first time in two years, alongside her husband, Prince William, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence and Lady Gabriella Windsor with Lady Sarah Chatto.
Notably absent from the annual event are still Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, whose appearances have been in doubt following their parents’ humiliation amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Previous reports claimed that the princesses were told not to attend this year. Last year, Beatrice attended Day One and Day Three of Royal Ascot, whilst Eugenie was pictured on Day Four and Day Five. Today’s highlights include The Gold Cup, which will take place at 4.15pm.
