Princess Kate and Prince William share behind-the-scenes Ascot picture

Kensington Palace have shared a glamorous new photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales which was taken before their much-anticipated joint return to Royal Ascot today. Their appearance at the second day of the famous racing event on Wednesday was Catherine's first since her cancer diagnosis.

The image was captured outside their Forest Lodge home near Windsor Castle and shows Catherine wearing a sunshine-yellow dress by Roksanda, which she previously debuted on her and Prince William's 2022 Caribbean tour. The caption alongside the picture reads: "A wonderful day at Royal Ascot. W & C."

Fans on social media were quick to praise the new behind-the-scenes picture. One fan wrote: "You are SUNSHINE! Thank you, Prince and Princess!"

A second agreed, saying: "That yellow really is a beautiful colour on you, princess."

A third said: "The most beautiful couple."

Another said succinctly: "You're both a credit to the UK and Commonwealth."

A final fan quipped: "Wow… what a couple. They look so regal."

The new image comes after the couple confirmed Prince George will be enrolled at Eton College in September after he leaves Lambrook School this summer.

Prince George’s first day at Eton later this year is expected to be documented in the traditional way, with a photograph of the then-13-year-old signing the school’s Entrance Book with his parents by his side.

Fees are currently set at an eye-watering £21,099.60 per term, totalling £63,298.80 for the year.
