Third murder arrest after 91-year-old woman's death in Rotherham

A third man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an elderly woman in Rotherham.Elizabeth "Betty" Clark, 91, died in hospital on 12 November, nearly two months after she was found seriously injured at a home in Peveril Close, Kiveton Park.Two men, aged 36 and 47, were previously arrested on suspicion of murder and remain on police bail, South Yorkshire Police said.On Wednesday, a police spokesperson confirmed a third person, a 56-year-old man, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, was bailed pending further inquiries.Senior investigating officer Det Insp Adam Watkinson said officers had been "conducting several lines of inquiry", including trawling through hours of CCTV. "Betty is missed greatly by those who knew her. She was well-loved within her community, by many friends and neighbours," said Watkinson."Yesterday's arrest moves us one step closer to finding the answers that Betty's family deserve."Anyone who was in the Kiveton Park area between 10 and 16 September and has information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police."Please get in touch - the information you hold could be the key missing link we need," Watkinson added.
