Ukrainian strikes hit St Petersburg as ‘Russian Davos’ opens

It’s been dubbed Russia’s answer to Davos: some 20,000 visitors from over 130 countries have travelled to St Petersburg for President Putin’s flagship economic forum. But their morning was interrupted by loud explosions and a plume of smoke after Ukrainian drones struck one of the city’s oil terminals. President Zelenskyy claimed responsibility on social media for the attack – around 700 miles from Kyiv – saying it was an example of “long-range sanctions”.
