EastEnders horror as George is brutally thumped sparking brain injury fears

He’s in danger (Picture: BBC) EastEnders’ George Knight (Colin Salmon) risks his health in a serious way next week when he gets back into the boxing ring to take out his anger at recent events.  The former pro boxer sparks fears he could be left with brain damage when a sparring session with Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) takes a devastating turn.  As fans of the BBC soap know, George’s world is set to be turned upside down during this week’s special set of episodes, and while we will all have to wait to see what transpires between him and his evil adopted father Eddie Knight (Christopher Fairbank), new spoilers have teased the aftermath.  With Eddie having revealed all about his deal with George’s partner Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) to let him move in with them at No.1 in exchange for cash, George can’t come to terms with Nicola’s manipulation.  George’s father Eddie recently returned to his life (Picture: BBC) Following a massive argument between the couple, George heads to the Boxing Den to release his anger.  Mark is also there letting off steam, and they enter into a friendly session, but it takes a turn when George – seemingly in a trance – forces Mark to fight back in defence.  A punch then accidentally connects, knocking George unconscious.  This proves to be a catastrophic development, as George had previously been diagnosed with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).  This condition was the result of repeated head injuries he suffered during his boxing career, with medics warning him he risked serious brain damage if he was ever to box against an opponent again.  The character has CTE (Picture: BBC) George goes into the ring completely aware of the risks (Picture: BBC) When Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) arrives at the scene, he tells a shocked Mark that George should never have been boxing due to his condition.  Dr Todd's horror move in Emmerdale as Charity is brutally assaulted Gabby's shock new story confirmed in Emmerdale as she faces very serious danger EastEnders confirms life-changing tragedy for Chelsea and Ian as character is knocked down When George comes around, he is groggy and confused and refuses hospital treatment, forcing Phil to take him home to Nicola, who it turns out had no idea about George’s injury.  Don't miss a Soaps scoop!
