Kerry 0-21 Tyrone 1-10: Kerry claim All-Ireland title to deny Tyrone three-peat
Kerry produced a powerful second-half performance at Croke Park to end Tyrone's bid to claim three successive titles as they won their first Under-20s All-Ireland since 2008 with a 0-21 to 1-10 victory.Paul Devlin's men were denied a historic three-in-a-row as Tomás Ó Sé's side avenged consecutive All-Ireland defeats to Tyrone, having lost last year's semi-final and the final the year before, to clinch the Kingdom's 10th title at this level.Kerry rallied from an eight-point deficit with 10 minutes remaining in the first half to trail by just two points at the interval, before taking control after the restart.A dominant midfield performance, combined with sustained pressure on the Tyrone kick-out, proved decisive as the Kingdom steadily took charge of the contest and closed out a memorable victory. The Red Hands made the brighter start and quickly imposed themselves through sharp attacking play. Shea McDermott opened the scoring with a two-point free, setting the early tone for Devlin's side.McDermott was central to Tyrone's first-half dominance, following up by finishing a flowing move with a low drive to the net as the Ulster champions moved into a commanding position. Adrian McGurren and Colton also contributed as Tyrone opened up an eight-point lead and looked firmly in control. But Kerry gradually worked their way back into the contest as Evan Boyle led the response with a series of scores, including a two-pointer from open play, while Daniel Kirby and Killian Dennehy also chipped in as the Kingdom reduced Tyrone's lead to just two points at the interval.Kerry carried that momentum into the second half. Kennedy opened the scoring from a free before Ronan Carroll levelled matters with a well-taken point after a quick counter-attack.The Kingdom then edged in front for the first time through Kirby's third point of the evening and gradually took control of the contest as they dominated kickouts.Tyrone attempted to respond through Shea McDermott, who registered Tyrone's only two scores of the half, but a black card for captain Conor Devlin for a foul on White proved a major setback as the Red Hands began to unravel. In the closing stages, Tomás Kennedy added his fourth free to put the result beyond doubt as Kerry closed out a memorable victory.
