Half a century of skateboarding celebrated in London’s Southbank

Born in California and later shaped by Britain’s punk culture, skateboarding found a home beneath the concrete of London’s Southbank in the 1970s. It’s now recognised as the spiritual home of British skateboarding 50 years on. A new exhibition celebrates the generations of skaters who’ve kept the scene alive, including the skate mums.
