Trump warned by former close ally of 'revolution' in US if troops sent into Iran
A former close ally of Donald Trump has warned of a "political revolution" in the US if he sends troops into Iran. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who used to be one of Mr Trump's biggest supporters but stepped down from the US Congress after falling out with him, took to X to issue a stern warning to the President. She wrote: "If you send in US military troops into Iran, there is going to be a political revolution in America. WE. ARE. DONE. We said no more foreign wars and we meant it. The coalition will unite and be unstoppable. I'll make sure of it. End this war. It's stupid."Ms Greene was once a staunch ally of Mr Trump, but became heavily critical over his handling of the Epstein files and after he engaged the US in another foreign war.Early Monday morning, Israel's Channel 13 reported that dozens of US cargo planes carrying ammunition from Germany had landed in Tel Aviv in the last 24 hours as part of preparations to resume the war.The Kan public broadcaster added that Israeli forces would target energy infrastructure.Warnings have been issued that the US and Israel could resume their attacks as soon as this week, according to a New York Times report citing two Middle Eastern officials. The report said Iranian Parliament National Security Spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei threatened to boost uranium enrichment to 90% if attacks resume. In Washington, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers on Tuesday that the US "has a plan to escalate, if necessary". He said: "We have a plan to retrograde, if necessary. We have a plan to shift assets."
