Cosplayers During the Comic Con Oakland Weekend
Cosplaying has always been a tradition at every fan convention, and Comic Con Oakland 2026 is no exception. With the summer season on the horizon, this was the perfect opportunity for East Bay cosplayers to present their latest work or test how it functions at an event. Many spent weeks adding final touches, modifying pieces, or updating their cosplay for the Town’s first fan convention in eight years.
During Comic Con Oakland 2026, many cosplayers showed up in their best or favorite work. Some cosplayers dedicate themselves to bringing their favorite character to life. Others add a personal style or a special twist. For Bay Area cosplayers, this weekend served as a launchpad for a packed summer circuit that includes Fanime, Anime Expo, and San Diego Comic Con for many cosplayers.

Cosplaying and cosplay gatherings were among the many highlights of Comic Con Oakland 2026. While there is a plethora of fun during the weekend, cosplaying will always be one of the hallmarks of the overall experience.
Comic Con Oakland 2026 took place May 9 to May 10, 2026 at the Oakland Convention Center. It was the first fan convention in Oakland since Kraken Con 2018, drawing comic writers, artists, performers, and independent publishers for a festive weekend with fans. Comic Con Oakland is set to return in 2027.
