Brownouts loom as NGCP raises red alert over Luzon, Visayas
MANILA, Philippines – Consumers in Luzon and the Visayas could experience power interruptions on Wednesday as the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) issued the country’s first red alert this 2026. A surge in power demand due to hotter weather, while more power plants are on forced outage, has led to tight power supply across the two grids.
