Horror as woman 'raped in alleyway' in small UK city

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following a report that a woman was attacked in an alleyway. West Mercia Police said it is believed the alleged offence happened between 6am and 8.30am on Saturday on The Tything, Worcester.The man arrested remains in custody as enquiries continue, the force said. It added there is an increased police presence in the area and the victim is being supported by specialist officers. Detective Inspector Lisa Tibbits said: “I know an incident like this will bring great concern to the community and I would like to reassure the public that a thorough investigation is now ongoing.“I am appealing to anybody who may have any information that would help with our enquiries, however insignificant you feel it may be, to please contact the police.
