This Chinese EV Coupe Wouldn't Look Out Of Place In Monaco
Lynk & Co’s first GT concept looks closer to a Ferrari Roma than a typical Chinese EV.
The electric coupe has rear-wheel drive, active aero, and a wild claimed 2-second 0–62 mph time.

Lynk & Co is one of Geely’s many brands, and you may know it as the car you rented at the airport on your holiday in Sicily. But Lynk & Co is evolving beyond merely sensible cars, and for its tenth anniversary, the brand has revealed something quite special. It’s called the GT concept, and it wouldn’t look out of place parked on a fancy street in Monaco.
It’s pretty clear Lynk & Co designers studied the prettiest grand touring coupes while they were creating this, and while there are hints of Ferrari and Aston Martin here and there, calling it derivative wouldn’t do it justice. This is a really pretty two-door with the long-hood proportions of a traditional grand tourer, looking ready to cross continents.

It’s slightly bigger than a Ferrari Roma and smaller than a Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, and its excellent design gives it the right to be mentioned in that company. It’s faster than both of them, at least on paper, with a claimed 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of 2 seconds. It would probably only achieve it in ideal grip conditions, because it’s rear-wheel drive.
The interior doesn’t disappoint, with a simple yet luxurious driver-focused layout, peppered with lime green details. One of these is a plus button, which puts the car through a dramatic visual transformation: it extends the front and rear bumpers by 3.9 inches (10 cm) for better downforce while lowering the car 0.6 inches (1.5 cm).
The instrument panel folds away too (like in a McLaren), as do the three smaller central screens. This is meant to minimize distractions when driving the car on track, where Lynk & Co says it would be in its element.
While this is just a concept for now, revealed at this year’s Beijing Auto Show, it could spawn a production car. Lynk & Co says it will “use feedback from the public and its community to help shape any future decisions regarding powertrain options and potential production.”
China already has far too many crossovers, sedans, and hatchbacks for anyone to remember. It needs some more memorable halo cars, and something like this would definitely qualify. Geely's rival, BYD, also recently unveiled a fast two-door grand tourer EV, the 1,000 hp Denza Z, and has already confirmed production of both coupe and roadster body styles.
