Hogwarts Legacy Free DLC Quest Praised By Gamers: "I Loved It"
Hogwarts Legacy is a game that really doesn't try to challenge the player with anything too adult, an understandable decision giving the target audience for Harry Potter and the Wizarding World does tend to skew a little younger. There are some tense and exciting moments along the way, but the developer avoided straying into anything outright scary along the way, with potentially frightening locations like the Shrieking Shack taking a backseat. That said, there is one quest that really consistently takes players by surprise, and it's a horror-filled departure from the formula that really is totally out of place among the wider game.

Originally releasing as a PlayStation exclusive incentive, Minding Your Own Business is a genuinely spooky side quest that sees players buying the Haunted Hogsmeade shop. Over on Reddit, one user shared their experience with the quest, under the title, "Should have minded my own business." They detailed just how jarring of an experience it was suddenly being confronted with terrifying mannequins, and how much of a departure it is from the usual fun on offer with Hogwarts Legacy. The OP was far from the first to describe that experience, as many of the comments attest to. "I think we all collectively also started this quest at night, in the dark…….alone. Certainly one I’ll never forget," one comment read. "I feel like that quest is almost universally hated, and it’s almost like a rite of passage to get completely caught off guard by it on the first play through," another added. Others were much more positive about the quest, with one saying, "I don’t think it’s hated it’s probably one of the most memorable parts of the game. Wish there were more quests like that and less Merlin trials, demiguise moons and pointless relationship quests where you help some irrelevant side character with an irrelevant meaningless task."
While another added, "I loved this quest so much! I'm a huge fan of horror and this, as well as one of the trials (Niamh's I think), are my favourite quests in the game!"
With the sequel now underway at developer Avalanche Studios and Portkey Games, it will be interesting to see if they lean into more out there concepts like the one above, in the final product. There's certainly some appetite for it, and it would be a lot more interesting than more of the bloat that really served as the most uninspiring part of the original Hogwarts Legacy.
