Man, 92, charged with murder of wife, 87, found dead in Exeter home
A 92 year old man has been charged with the murder of his 87-year-old wife following her death at a residential address.Devon and Cornwall Police attended a property on Millbrook Lane, Exeter, at approximately 12.40pm on April 19, responding to welfare concerns regarding a woman. Tragically, police confirmed she was declared dead at the scene.The deceased has been identified as Shirley Billam, with her family receiving ongoing support from specialist officers. Devon and Cornwall Police announced this morning (April 28) that a 92 year old man has been charged in connection with her murder, reports Devon Live.Laurence Billam, of Millbrook Lane in Exeter, is scheduled to appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court this morning.A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 87-year-old woman in Exeter. Officers were called to Millbrook Lane at around 12.40pm on Sunday 19 April following reports of a concern for welfare."Emergency services attended where a woman was discovered deceased at the property. The woman has since been named as Shirley Billam (pictured).
