‘Storage Wars’ Co-Star Pays Tribute to Darrell Sheets’ Following His Death
Brandi Passante has become the latest cast member of Storage Wars to share a tribute for Darrell Sheets. She posted a heartfelt update to her Instagram account following the news of his death on Wednesday, April 22.
"I'm at a loss for words!"
" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Brandi wrote. "I've known Darrell Sheets for many years. I'm just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber. I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations."
Brandi then used her statement to implore anyone struggling with their own issues to seek out help.
"I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares. I assure you they do!! You are not alone. Please reach out for help. You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else."
Brandi's post comes after Darrell Sheets was found in Lake Havasu City. His cause of death appears to have been a suicide. Rene Nezhoda, another one of Darrell's co-stars, has also released a statement via a video posted to Instagram.
"This was not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life. So he passed away," Rene wrote. "I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show. And you know, we had our moments. We had our run-ins because we were both competitors, right? We were both competitors with the biggest threat out there."
Rene also dispelled the notion that the two weren't friends behind the scenes.
"So deep down me and Darrell were friends, we talked every now and then," he explained. "He was a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I've ever met about their family, about his son, about Zoe [his granddaughter], pretty much [all the] people in his life."
Darrell Sheets Was Allegedly Being Cyberbullied
During the video that Rene posted, he reveals that Darrell was the victim of intense cyberbullying of late.
"...I know Darrell would want something positive out of this, so he had a guy that [was] really really tormenting him lately. Cyberbullying," Rene said. "Guys, just because you watch us on television, doesn't mean you know us. It doesn't mean you know what we're about. Also, it doesn't entitle you to bully somebody. That's not [just] us, that's anybody. That's any athlete. You shouldn't cyberbully at all."
Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, a public information officer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department, has revealed that the police are aware of the allegations of cyberbullying.
"We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations, and that is a part of the active investigation," Ridgway said, via Page Six.
Darrell's death has certainly come as a shock. There is no further information regarding the current investigation or what led to his death. Nevertheless, more updates will inevitably become public as the investigation continues.
