Man Utd leading race to sign £52m Real Madrid star who’s set for Premier League move
Manchester United are now leading the race to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, who value their midfielder at just £52m ahead of this summer.
Man Utd leading race to sign Camavinga
It's an open secret that Man United's priority will be to improve their midfield this summer. The Red Devils had their problems in that area exposed against Leeds United last Monday when Manuel Ugarte could not replicate the quality of Kobbie Mainoo. As a result of one injury, Michael Carrick's side suffered a major drop-off. INEOS are certainly well aware of the problem and a number of names have already entered their shortlist ahead of the summer. That includes both Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali. Both are big money options and both would be statement signings at Old Trafford.
No player has recovered possession more times than Elliot Anderson (267) in Europe's top five leagues this season
Signing Anderson or Tonali would almost mirror last summer's transfer tactic, which saw Man United chiefs shop locally rather than welcoming players into the Premier League for the first time. Having been scarred one too many times by unproven stars, it looks as though the Red Devils are prioritising players who can hit the ground running at Old Trafford.
What that also likely means is more competition for those transfers and whilst United managed to beat any of their rivals to Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo last season, it may be a different case in pursuit of Anderson and Tonali. Manchester City are certainly ones to watch when it comes to Anderson and the Citizens could force INEOS to turn towards an alternative option in the form of a Real Madrid star.

Manchester United have identified another transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Caught Offside, Man United are leading the race to sign Camavinga alongside Arsenal and could launch a move to sign the Frenchman, who Real Madrid value at €60 (£52m). Both the player and club are open to a sale, with a Premier League move this summer looking likely.
£52m Camavinga could become instant bargain
There was once a time when £52m would be slightly excessive for any play. Those days are long gone. For a Real Madrid midfielder and full France international, that is an undeniable bargain that Man United should take full advantage of this summer.
After a needless second yellow card just over 20 minutes after entering the fray against Bayern Munich in midweek, as Madrid crashed out of the Champions League, Camavinga's future at the club has never been in more doubt. But their trash can quickly become Man United's treasure.

Camavinga would be an upgrade on Ugarte in every department, having been labelled as 'extraordinary' by Carlo Ancelotti.
With Madrid seemingly willing to part ways with the 23-year-old, those at Old Trafford have the opportunity to sign a player who has already featured on the biggest stage and someone who has so much more potential to unlock. It should be a no-brainer for INEOS this summer if Man City beat them to Anderson's signature.
