Kanye West faces new blow as another concert gets canceled after antisemitism scandal
Kanye West has had another European concert scrapped amid ongoing backlash over his previous antisemitic remarks.The 48-year-old rapper called off a French performance just days earlier, posting on social media that he didn't "want to put my fans in the middle of it." Now, his scheduled appearance at Poland's Slaski stadium has been axed.Venue director Adam Strzyzewski announced via Facebook, "We would like to inform you that the Ye (Kanye West) concert planned for 19 June 2026 at the...Slaski stadium will not take place due to formal and legal reasons." The announcement sparked fierce criticism due to Kanye's antisemitism. On April 7, the Home Office moved to prevent the rapper from entering the U.K. and rejected his visa application. Consequently, the festival was canceled.The Government faced pressure to stop Kanye, who now goes by Ye, from entering the U.K. following earlier antisemitic statements. These include producing a song titled Heil Hitler and promoting a swastika T-shirt for purchase on his website, reports the Mirror.After Kanye's U.K. entry ban, which followed condemnation from Jewish organizations, the rapper issued a statement regarding his intentions. He said, "My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peach and love through my music."I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the UK in person, to listen. I know words aren't enough - I'll have to show change through my actions. If you're open. I'm here."Wireless also issued a statement, "The Home Office has withdrawn YE's ETA, denying him entry into the United Kingdom . As a result, Wireless Festival is cancelled and refunds will be issued to all ticket holders. As with every Wireless Festival, multiple stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking YE and no concerns were highlighted at the time."Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had. As YE said today, he acknowledges that words alone are not enough, and in spite of this still hopes to be given the opportunity to begin a conversation with the Jewish community in the UK."The cancellation of Kanye's Poland concert comes after he was also forced to cancel his show in France. He took to X to announce the news, writing, "After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice."He continued, "I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends[.] I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it. My fans are everything to me[.] Looking forward to the next shows[.] See you at the top of the globe."
