Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Lead Says His LGBTQ+ Award Nom Isn't "Woke"
Realistic medieval action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been nominated for two prestigious Gayming Awards, but the way that creative director Daniel Vávra has chosen to acknowledge said awards is strange, to say the least. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been nominated for Gayming Magazine's Fan Favorite award, as well as for Best LGBTQ+ Character for Hans Capon, with whom protagonist Henry of Skalitz can enter into a romance if the player so chooses. Acknowledging these award nominations on X, Vávra says that he's "really proud" of receiving both of them, but that he believes the romance was handled "without shoving it down anyone’s throat or trying to re-educate them like so many titles that are rigtfully (sic) called 'woke' these days". Vávra, who also opened his post with the phrase "TRIGGER WARNING!", also says that despite his game's nominations, he still finds "the abundance of forced “woke” nonsense in the entertainment industry annoying" on a personal level.
