Disney and OpenAI reached a $1 billion agreement, making Disney the first major content licensing partner with Sora, OpenAI's generative AI video platform. As part of this three-year licensing agreement, Sora will be able to generate over 200 animated characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars. Users will be able to generate images of their favorite characters from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Lilo and Stitch, Encanto, Frozen, Moana, Monsters Inc., Toy Story, and Up. Fans will also be able to use their creations with Marvel versions, like Black Panther, Deadpool, Groot, Iron Man, Thor, Thanos, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia, the Mandalorian, Stormtroopers, and Yoda.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell discussed AI, spending on data centers, and the US economy on Wednesday in the Fed's recent rate cut announcement. The Fed cut rates by 25 basis points, bringing the new target range 3.5% to 3.75%. "We are well-positioned to wait and see how the economy evolves," Powell added.
