Domestic abuser jailed after third order breach this year
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Anthony Herdman was banned from a specific area of Burnley where the victim of a domestic violence incident lived.
He was found in the area by police investigating an unrelated incident.
Herdman, 31, of Leyland Road, Burnley, pleaded guilty to breach of a criminal behaviour order and was jailed for 14 weeks.
District Judge Alexandra Preston said Herdman knew exactly what happened when he breached the order because he kept doing it.
"This is the third breach this year and you were on prison licence, which makes it worse," said District Judge Preston.
Darren Fazackerley, prosecuting, said police were attending another incident in Coal Street, Burnley, when they came across the defendant and realised he was in breach of the order.
Lucy Williams, mitigating, said as a result of the incident her client had been recalled on prison licence for 14 days.
"He was on the boundary of the exclusion area and can't say why he was there," said Miss Williams.
