Jeopardy! Fans Demand The Return Of This Iconic Player Amid Summer Rerun Backlash
As Jeopardy! plans to air reruns for the rest of the summer, fans are disappointed and demanding the return of an iconic player. Jeopardy! season 41 culminated with the end of superchampion Scott Riccardi's 16-day streak when he was defeated by Jonathan Hugendubler. During his incredible Jeopardy! run, Scott entered the Leaderboard of Legends in two categories (number 8 for highest winnings in regular-game play with $455,000 and tying for number 10 with Ryan Long for most consecutive games won with 16). However, when Jeopardy! returns on September 8, Jonathan will be the returning champion.

In an Instagram post, Jeopardy! announced it's rerun schedule, which includes the 2025 Tournament of Champions (TOC) and Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (JIT). The reruns feature TOC Week 1 (airing July 28 to August 1), TOC Week 2 (airing August 4 to August 8), and TOC Week 3 (airing August 11 to August 15). After the Jeopardy! TOC reruns, the JIT will reair, including JIT Week 1 (August 18 to August 22), JIT Week 2 (August 25-August 29), and JIT Week 3 (September 2 to September 4). On September 5, Jeopardy! will air the final game of season 41, Scott's last game, which originally aired on July 25. In the comments section of the post, there was backlash from fans about the Jeopardy! reruns, with one wishing that James Holzhauer could return. They wrote, "I wish James could play every day!!! Sure miss him!! #jeopardyjames." Other fans expressed their distaste for Jeopardy! reruns, with one writing, "No thanks, I’ll come back in September for the new season. I don’t watch reruns. Have a nice summer." Another said, "Good reason to take a break."
