Northern Ireland youth international leaves West Ham United for League One club
Barnsley's Patrick KellyNorthern Ireland youth international Patrick Kelly has left West Ham United and joined League One Barnsley on a three-year deal.Former Republic of Ireland international Conor Hourihane has recruited the midfielder for the Tykes, who are hoping to mount a promotion bid this season.Hourihane, said,: “We’re really pleased to add Patrick to the group.“He’s a dynamic, intelligent midfielder who fits the way we want to play. He’s had a brilliant grounding at youth international level and has already tasted success in a promotion-winning team, which will stand him in good stead.“We’re looking forward to working with him and helping him settle into the squad.”Kelly, 20, joined the Hammers from Coleraine in 2022. He spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers in League Two where he made 38 appearances, scoring three goals.Kelly added, “It’s a really good feeling.“I’m really happy to get it over the line and I just can’t wait to get going.”
