Dozens of people in Utah were just a heartbeat away from disaster when an elderly driver plowed through a crowd at a car show. The footage, which is shocking to watch, shows a terrifying close call, followed by a bizarre aftermath that suggests the driver might have been experiencing a medical emergency. The video, shared widely across social media, shows what appears to be a white Subaru Forester barreling down a straight in what looks like an industrial area. Several cars can be seen parked at the dead-end, with dozens of people standing on the side of the road. The clip then cuts to a close-up, showing the Forester speeding past spectators and coming within inches of hitting them while seemingly traveling at well over typical highway speeds. Moments later, a crowd of people can be seen rushing to the Subaru, which came to a stop several hundred feet away in the middle of a field. There, the elderly driver of the Forester appears visibly uninjured but is acting strangely. He can be seen bashing the crossover’s windshield with one of the broken wipers, leading some to suggest he may have been suffering a medical episode, or is perhaps suffering from something like dementia. What happened after the incident remains unclear, especially with no word on whether the authorities were notified. Those who were standing on the street should be thanking their lucky stars the speeding Forester didn’t run over them. Had the driver hit anyone, they could have been instantly killed due to the sheer speed at which the Forester was traveling. It’s also remarkable that none of the parked cars were hit either, as an impact at this velocity could have also easily killed the elderly driver.
