The revised model will feature new aero elements including larger vents and rear wing. Other improvements will include a boost in engine torque and revised chassis tuning. Toyota Gazoo Racing is working on the 2026 GR Corolla, which will introduce a handful of track-focused upgrades. The Japanese hot hatch will benefit from a more aggressive aero kit and revised chassis tuning, alongside a torque boost. The company shared photos of a camouflaged prototype, all but revealing the exterior changes. The 2026 GR Corolla will feature a much larger rear wing and new vents on the hood. Furthermore, the front fenders now integrate 911 GT3-style vents and redesigned side gills. Toyota didn’t mention a power increase, meaning that the turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine might retain its 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) rating. Note that the GR Corolla has already benefited from a torque increase as part of the 2025 MY upgrades, taking it from the original 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) to 295 lb-ft (400 Nm). It has also gained the option of an eight-speed automatic gearbox next to the six-speed manual, while the front and rear limited-slip differentials are now part of the standard equipment across all grades. The rear wing of the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla is much larger compared to its predecessor. The redesigned bodykit made its first spy appearance last year, making us believe that the company was cooking up a GRMN version of the hot hatchback. At the moment, it is not clear whether the upgrades will be applied across the GR Corolla lineup or if they will be reserved for a flagship trim.
