Diddy's Mom Accuses Netflix Of Lying In Sean Combs: The Reckoning
Janice Combs, the mother of the titular figure of Netflix's Sean Coombs: The Reckoning, rushes to her son's defense, claiming that the docuseries is inaccurate and is hurting her family. Janice released an exclusive statement to Deadline, setting the record straight about the false information that was presented in the Netflix show. She insisted that Sean Combs: The Reckoning was filled with lies about Sean's childhood, his personal life, and her image. She added how the fake narrative that the streaming platform is trying to sell was done on purpose to make her and her son look bad. Janice also slammed the dishonesty of the people behind the docuseries.
I am writing this statement to correct some of the lies presented in the Netflix, Sean Coombs: The Reckoning, released on December 2, 2025. These inaccuracies regarding my son Sean’s upbringing and family life is intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation.
Janice explained how she spent nearly every day in the courtroom with her grandchildren throughout her son's trial. During that time, she was forced to listen to allegations of her son's drug use, acts of violence, and being a sex trafficker which was traumatizing enough. The "false" statements are just making things worse. She is also convinced that 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) is lying for the sole purpose of hurting Sean because the two don't get along, to say the least. Although she claimed the lies were fabricated, she didn't let Netflix off the hook. She said that the industry giant should be ashamed of itself for promoting such slanderous content without any solid proof to back up everything that was mentioned. Combs also accused Kirk Burrows, who has pending lawsuits against Diddy, of lying when he claimed that her son was physically abusive towards her.
The allegations stated by Mr. Kirk Burrows that my son slapped me while we were conversing after the tragic City College events on December 28, 1991, are inaccurate and patently false. That was a very sad day for all of us. For him to use this tragedy and incorporate fake narratives to further his prior failed and current attempt to gain what was never his, Bad Boy Records is wrong, outrageous and past offensive.
Janice concluded her statement by saying that her son had always been good to her. He cared about her health and made sure that she was financially stable. She also asked all parties involved in the creation of Sean Combs: The Reckoning to retract anything featured in the documentary that wasn't true.
Sean has been a dutiful son always ensuring that I was cared for and vigilantly managing my medical care, as well as providing financial support.
I am requesting that these distortions, falsehoods and misleading statements be publicly retracted.
